Introducing Dr. Brad Barez of the South Bay
Hello, my name is Dr. Brad Barez. I'm the older guy. On my shoulders is my daughter, Victoria, and my son Brian is on the left. When I was younger my parents said “God has a GREAT purpose for you.” Looking back I’m proud to have experienced life’s adventures that molded me into the Father, Husband, and Doctor I am today. I grew up in a very loving family in the South Bay of Los Angeles California. For grade school, I went to the Palos Verdes Unified School District. Growing up I loved Science, Sports, and Friends.
I always had ambitions of becoming a professional baseball or football player. I was highly recruited for College sports in high school. During one spring training workout, I was severely injured. My prognosis was poor, and my professional dreams suddenly were halted. I was told my treatment would consist of medications, surgery, and maybe loose the ability to run again. This is where it all began. I was taught by my mother, Viola Barez, “never give up hope and there are always other solutions toward accomplishment.” She spoke from years of experience being a Registered Physical Therapist. I had a full recovery that year, and even ran the Palos Verdes Marathon in 3 hours and 35 minutes. Not bad for an ambitious baseball/ football player.
I did my undergraduate studies at Azusa Pacific University, Arizona State University and the University of Salamanca in Spain. I majored in Biology and Sports Medicine. In graduate school, I was the Founding Father of the National Sports Injury Council. I formed a group of students focusing on treatment for athletes and optimizing athletic performance. Today, every Chiropractic School in the USA and abroad has this organization. I graduated top of my class with a Doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles.
Today, I love my life. I have been married for over ten years to Danytza. We have two incredible children Brian and Victoria. (They’ll probably follow our family healthcare footsteps.)
I call treating patients a hobby. I love getting patients well. I started practice in 1994 and instantaneously began treating a majority of professional and amateur athletes. It was a pleasure seeing a 90 year old senior patient next to professional linebacker for the Los Angeles Raiders. Our treatments are for everyone, not just athletes. Our unique treatments combine various soft tissue therapies, numbers of chiropractic techniques, and a coined treatment named as Functional Rehabilitation ™. Each treatment plan is customized knowing everyone’s condition, age, and goals are different. I strive today to learn more to serve patients better so everyone can achieve a happy and healthy lifestyle. Understand my passion is helping people live their dreams. Without health all dreams will never come true. Please choose me to be your Chiropractor and let your dreams come true.
